#The Edit- 2017 Best of Beauty Products-

Happy 2018 guys! I hope this year brings you joy and happiness! I wanted to round up some of the best beauty products that I have come across in 2017 from skincare to makeup products. For the past year I have really narrowed down to my essentials and have some firm products I reach for on a daily basis I really wanted to share with you today…

Makeup Award-

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick– I am all about easy and efficient makeup especially in the mornings where I leave myself little time to look glam (I mean I do end up doing 30% of my makeup whilst waiting for the train). This foundation provides medium to full coverage and gives my skin a really healthy demi matte glow. I like to use my beloved Sephora Buffing Brush to really work it into the skin and what I really like about this is the staying power from 8am till 7pm.

Tom Ford Disco Dust Eye Shadow Palette– This is probably my single most used eyeshadow palette this year and I was taken by surprise how well pinky shades look on my complexion. I mean you guys know I love these quads from TF as the quality is top notch and this has been my go to palette for a effortless glam daytime look or use the glitter shade to go from office to dance floor!

I was taken by surprise when I got my hands on this Victoria Beckham for Estee Lauder Morning Aura earlier this year and I’ve been playing with this and been using it either on the tops of my cheek bones as a highlighter or used before foundation. I love how subtle this is and if it’s good enough for Mrs Beckham herself then it’s definitely good enough for my little complexion! I have tried a handful of things from her collection and they are all incredibly good but this I have to say has been a go to product for dull/grey days to inject a little glow.

Skincare- Award-

La Mer Cleansing Gel- I have been through a few bottles this year and it’s definitely a firm everyday cleanser. My skin leans more towards combination dry and I love how this foams up slightly and I tend to use this more so in the morning and remove it using a hot flannel. This cleanser makes my skin feel cleansed without being stripped and works both summer and winter time in harmony.

La Mer Renewal Oil- I’ve definitely become an oil lover over the past year and have been using this religiously now for a year and I can hands down say it’s the most amazing oil I have tried for my skin. I love this for a variety of reasons; it’s a dry oil so doesn’t feel greasy or heavy and can be mixed with everything from your serums to moisturisers. I also like to use this as an evening treatment adding four drops into my palms and really massaging into the skin, the result? a rested glowing complexion and it’s like magic in a bottle!

Fresh Rose Face Mask– I’ve restocked up on my second pot of this and I have to say it’s one of the most effective face masks I have tried in terms of delivering results and this works really well both summer an winter time for that extra dose of hydration. I use this weekly in between other masks and it sits in well and also smells divine.

Other Aspects of Beauty-

I’ve been indulging myself with this Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay Shower Hand and Body Wash and it is just divine. I also got the candle version and it just makes my morning shower routine so much more luxurious. I like to use a bath lily with this so it foams up and it leaves my skin feeling baby soft and the scent lingers too which I love. I feel a little goes a long way with this and although it is a hand and body wash I think you should save it for your body instead for a little pick me up.

This year I have been wearing two fragrances non stop and when I find a scent I like I obsess over it for ages and ages until I find something new. The first one I’ve been wearing more as a day scent is this Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud Cologne Intense. When I first came across it I fell in love with it instantly as the scent is not overly floral and has that hint of oud which is not overpowering unlike some other Oud scents I have come across. I prefer the intense version as I find the regular cologne doesn’t really stick round on me but this definitely all day and the bottle is just so chic.

For evenings I have been really enjoying the Tom Ford Noir de Noir Scent from his private collection and this to me smells “sexy” and has notes of Rose, Oud and Vanilla. It’s similar to the JM Velvet Rose and Oud but a little more deeper and sensual ¬†and perfect for fall season especially. This is my first private blend frangrance from TF and I am completely smitten about it and plan to add more to my fragrance stash.

And we are to the end of the list finally! This year has been a good year to discover new beauty products and I am glad I found my holy grail products of 2017!

Have you discovered some great products in the past year?

Lots of Love.

Kawai x
