If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll know I had a clearcut of my makeup stash especially my lipsticks, before I was hoarding around over 80 lipsticks of which some I can’t even remember buying and I moved them from house to house. Anyway the point is I got rid of the majority and only kept my daily favourites and recently I have been filling the gaps with some newness just in time for winter. I always think a lipstick just finishes off the look no matter if it’s a simple everyday makeup or a full on glam evening look. I carry a few different lipsticks with me at all times, a daily everyday shade and a brighter shade for when I need that boost of colour. I have accumulated four new lipsticks which I have been wearing in rotation in the past couple of weeks and I’m so happy these have filled my gap just in time for winter….
Chanel Rouge Coco Carmen– Let’s start with my most recent purchase, this was completely a surprise and a little impulse buy, when I was buying the eye liner the day before I had a sample of some lipsticks to try and I tried this shade the next day! Straight away I fallen in love and went back to snap it up as the staying power was incredible. I have already got a Rouge Coco from Chanel and I think the pigments are amazeballs and Chanel never disappoints in the lips department either. This shade Carmen is a beautiful easy to wear red and more muted compared to some of their reds. I have been applying this with a lip brush and found it to give a more precise application and the perfect winter red that is great to wear day and night.
Moving onto my current everyday lipstick Mac Liptensity in Smoked Almond. I’m so late on the party train with this and I know a lot of people already harped on about this but I have to say I am incredibly happy with this from the shade to the texture. The lipstick feels very creamy but not as thick as a traditional lipstick if you get what I mean. This is described as a warm brown but on me it looks more beige/nude and slightly pinky. I love this as you can just throw it on without needing a mirror and the longevity of this is also great staying on throughout meals and drinks. I am very tempted to snap up a few more shades of this as it’s super moisturising even in the winter times where my lips feel and look like a prune.
Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colour in Soft Berry– You know I’m a real sucker for berry shades in the colder months and this is the perfect autumn soft berry colour as the name would suggest! I’ve been wearing this a tonne in the day time with a more intense eye look and it balances out perfectly, I can’t wear super nude shades as I think it washes me out as my skin colour goes lighter for winter. I love the formula of these as they are super moisturising and pigmented and the colour stays put all day even through meals and drinks I found. I don’t own a lot of things from Bobbi Brown aside from some brushes but this is definitely one of my favourite products from the brand.
