It’s been a while since I last done a FOTD post in fact I can’t remember the last time I actually written one. My makeup habits has been a little on the simple side lately partly because I’ve been lazy and I’ve been making the effort of using up some of my products in my stash. I put on my insta stories the other day this simple FOTD and I thought I write up a little more about my daily products that I’m gravitating towards…
Lets’ start off by talking about one of my current go to foundations, Nars Sheer Glow. I can’t remember when I picked up this foundation but I know I have to use it up. This provides a medium coverage and gives a really dewy/healthy glow to the skin. This is definitely a popular option all year round but I find it great for summer months as it gives more of a “skin finish” without looking cakey. I’m in the shade Santa Fe which has got the perfect yellow tone and works very well for me. I find it a hard time looking for a foundation that matches perfectly but Nars has got it down to a T. The wear of this foundation I would say is 6-8 hours before I need to touch up and definitely a great option for the summer months.
My under eyes haven’t been looking all that bad since I’ve been using my La Mer Eye Concentrate pretty religiously every night so I just been applying my Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Concealer on the inner corners of my eyes to even everything out. This concealer is great as it has a peachy tone which works miracles when I had a late night or lack of sleep and I love the doe-foot applicator which picks up the perfect amount.
Mac Velvet Teddy Eye Kohl Eye Liner– I’ve been getting back into Brown eyeliners and this one has been a great one to use and you can also smudge the lower lash line for a sultry look. I think eye liner is something I really like and it makes a whole lot of difference for me adding definition and opening my peepers up.
For shadow I’ve rekindled my love for this Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Silk-Road and it’s the perfect everyday shades. I don’t own an awful lot of Nars eyeshadows but I always go back to the duos as they are really portable and also highly pigmented. I sweep these through my peeper and it gives a beautiful sheen but adding a wash of colour, if I want to build it up I tend to use a darker matte shade on the crease and it works great day to night.
I still reach for my Kat Von D Tattoo Tattoo Liner on a daily basis and I still stand my point and think this is the best liquid eye liner ever. I’m still a little obsessed with this and have a backup in my stash all the time. For me a liquid liner puts everything together and it looks like you put the effort in when it only takes 30 seconds to apply, sometimes when I’m feeling fancy I do like to wing it out bigger and do it perfectly once in a while.
Tom Ford Extreme Mascara– Oh I forgot I still had this mascara, this is probably the most I’ve ever paid for a mascara but man it’s amazing. I’m a die hard TF fan as you will know and this definitely doesn’t disappoint. The brush is big enough so it pumps up my lashes without making them look clumpy and more importantly it stays put and holds a curl immensely well. I definitely think this is one of the best mascaras I have tried and lasts a long time too.
For my brows I’ve been letting them grow and prolonging my visits to Blink Brow Bar on a regular basis and I’m so happy with them. I’m on my last legs with this Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows and it’s on my list of things to repurchase so it says a lot about this! I think this is the best fibre brow gel out there and the applicator is skinny enough to brush through and add some definition. I’ve been going through them with my Hourglass Brow Pencil first (not pictured) to give them a shape and then using this CT Legendary brows to beef them up.
To finish everything off I’ve been obsessing over my favourite Chanel Blusher in Malice. This is my favourite ever shade as it’s a coral but very wearable especially for Spring/Summer and looks great with a tan. I’ve harped on about this blusher before and it’s a summer must have for everyone. For lipstick I’ve been keeping it simple using my Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk. This is a great lipstick to have for everyday wear and also works well balancing out a heavy smoky eye. It’s hard to find a nude lipstick that suits everyone but I think CT has definitely done it right with the shade and of course my favourite formula.
So that’s it for my simple but put together look. Thanks for reading.
Lots of Love.
