I want to make a confession about my stash of mascaras. I reach for different ones depending on what I want to go for E.G a fuller lash look I would use my Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lash or my Tom Ford Extreme Mascara for uber big lashes and on causal days I would usually reach for my Tarte Gifted Mascara. You get what I mean? Well recently I picked up a sale gift bag from Selfridges that contained a gazillion travel size goodies and this Eyeko Sports Waterproof Mascara was inside. I never come across Eyeko mascaras before so it’s all a new thing to me so I’ve been testing this little guy out for the past week or so and I have to say I like it. Here’s why…
Eyeko is a British brand created by Max and Nina Leykind and the range includes a range of mascara and eye liners that are loved by the beauty industry and highly hyped up by beauty bloggers too. Alexa Chung is the creative consultant for the brand and I really love this girls style so I was eager to try this mascara.
This mascara as the name would suggest is waterproof which is something I don’t usually gravitate towards and this also usually means it’s super stubborn to get off. Well I can say yes it’s a pretty sturdy mascara and it’s also sweatproof, smudge proof and more importantly it is waterproof. There’s also a lot of good things packed into this mascara that just works for me;
- Clump Free and buildable application
- Uses Thixotropical gel formula that repels water.
- Uses a conditioning formula with 11 fruit extracts
- Hold a curl really well
- Created for people with an active lifestyle
I don’t usually rave about a mascara but the wand of this mascara reminds me so much of my favorite Dior overcurl mascara which just holds a curl really well and this is a little more affordable. When I use this my lashes look super fluttery and full. Usually I find it difficult getting a mascara that stays put on my bottom lashes but this works really well and I don’t end up with a black ring under my eyes.
Wear time wise I find this mascara wears really well throughout the day and doesn’t drop but it’s definitely not a big drama mascara. I also find that this mascara separates my lashes really well without making my lashes look spidery long. The packaging of this mascara is also really cute and simple and you can toss this in your makeup bag or on the go like I do. With waterproof mascaras I find that oil based makeup removers works best so usually I go ahead with my cleansing oils or my Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover to take it off in the evenings.
Overall I would definitely recommend this mascara if you looking for a very waterproof mascara. It’s hard to find a waterproof mascara that doesn’t clump and actually waterproof (I even worn this and cried and it was still on!) so yes I have tested this out to full extreme and I can say it doesn’t budge until you remove it. If you feel like you have to wear mascara in the pool or on holidays then this would definitely be a great choice.
